‘The Burning Man experience opens hearts and gives a glimpse of what can be. The gifting and sharing that goes on the playa is wonderful. The values described in the Ten Principles of Burning Man: Radical Inclusion, Gifting, Decommodification, Radical Self-reliance, Radical Self-expression, Communal Effort, Civic Responsibility, Leaving No Trace, Participation, and Immediacy. If we can instill sustainability and alternative energy use in the art cars, art and use of fuel for camps, etc., we have a great model for a wonderful society, where sharing and cooperation is the way of Being.’

 Burning Man

It’s burning man season!

Every year i tell myself ‘I won’t be coming next year, for sure.’ And yet so far, I keep returning to that place. Desert people! Furry, dusty, messy, sexy, shipwrecked coconut-hearts: I decided I won’t be coming home this year. So I wrote us a little poem:

Blow a warm dusty smile my way
On a Saturday, when the fire dances and Man falls down in flames,
When blazing ashes rain down on the thousands of you.
Blow a glittery silent kiss my way
On a Sunday night, when all your whispered songs in the temple fly up,
To the wishful fire-lit skies.
Do hug the light, and the night,
And that fire-spitting mean-old octopus,
Scream at him for me:
‘I’ll see you next year!’

Maybe I’ll have goosebumps,
Maybe pink flamingos will come flying by,
And maybe they’ll have some coconut ice-cream..

Burning Man 2011, Rites Of Passage.

My very first burn! Love shines through every grain of dust, shines in the eyes of every single person you meet, and every adventure only brings you more love, more essence, and more truth. I wished to have more pictures but I was so very much into the experience… I got a few of my own, and others from friends, I hope you enjoy them!

Love & gratitude to all the beautiful souls & beings who shared this experience with me, dancing on the playa, riding our bikes, walking in dust, port-a-potty party, thank you for a lifetime’s magical adventures in one eternal week forever engraved in my heart, the temple’s spiritual moments, the dusty parties, the art car rides, the love in the desert, gazing with the angels at the magical moon, and the surreal sunrise, the hugging, the kissing, the crying, the smiling, the laughing, the burning…
Some things that happen on the playa change you forever.. We are so blessed! And I am so in love with a Burning Man, a Temple, a City, and a beauteous beautiful community.

LOVE
